Through a set of narcotic sensors powered by machine learning, the TactiLab enables the collection of representative laboratory data on illicit drugs and delivers it in a low-cost, portable platform.
Recent years show that the production of illicit drugs has increased and become more diverse. For example, precursors for heroin, cocaine, amphetamines and other drugs are increasingly being imported into Europe and processed there in drug laboratories (European Drug Report). These local drug mixtures and variants can be added to the scanning library before they become widespread and are immediately transferred to all handheld devices in the field used by police, customs and judicial forces.
Operation
Optical reading requires no sample preparation and does not alter the sample in any way. The system can be operated by easily trained forensic personnel to acquire a reference library of high-volume drugs in a quality assurance laboratory. Our solution enables the data gathering with a statistical distribution of spectra, without operator errors and it runs without continuous monitoring.
